A random list of important and not-so-important things happening in and around my life on or near May 18, 2008
1. Thanks to my friend, Bryan S., I am rediscovering the majesty of Radiohead’s “The Bends.” Just how great is that fucking album? If you answered, “Hot damn! That’s hot shit!” You answered correctly. Or, “Not as good as ‘OK Computer’” would also be accepted.
2. This is going to be a crazy week at Ye Olde Place O’ Employment. A retiree celebration and a breakfast for celebrating volunteers and hydration are both on the docket.
3. Now with wings! I found an apartment! Cor blimey! More details are forthcoming.
4. She’s mumbling in Latin. She cut the stars out of the sky and baked them in a pie.
5. I got my hair did. It’s all brown and now I have bangs. I’m not used to it. It’s been an adjustment. Tomorrow morning, I have to wake up, shower and do my hair. That will be the true test of how much I like or dislike my hair.
6. I want to complain about someone, but I don’t want no drama, no, no, no, no drama… But there is a certain person in my life that is making it more of a challenge.
7. I don’t understand the concept of “slop” pool. I think if I hit the white ball and it hits another ball and it goes into the pocket, no matter if I intended on hitting that ball or a different ball, it should count. What gives, world?
8. Anathallo played the Cactus Club on Friday night, and I wasn’t there. Color me bummed out.
9. Next Saturday, a group of us are going to Medieval Times in Ill. I’m excited. Kind of.
10. I saw “Iron Man” on Thursday, and it rocked my socks. Before it, there was a preview for “The Dark Knight” and I believe I had an orgasm. I am so incredibly excited for that movie. I need to see it on the UltraScreen, sitting in one of those swanky chairs.
11. I am also excited for the new Indiana Jones, but mostly to see if Harrison Ford breaks a hip and asks for his mush during it. I bet not, but a girl can hope.
12. A certain member of my household bought a huge-ass flatscreen, widescreen HD TV for the living room upstairs. It is pimp ass. That person spent the weekend discovering just how great things look in high definition. And how not-so-great certain things look. Some people just don’t look that wonderful in HD. But MLB and NFL are swoon-worthingly great.
13. ThinkGeek has a peppermill that looks like R2-D2. And I want it! Check it out!
14. I also saw “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” on Saturday. My friend Josh has ruined Jason Siegel for me forever. He basically called him Judge Reinhold 2.0, and now every time I see him, I think of that. And, I’m sorry, I loves me some cock, but that movie had far too much Jason Siegel wang. I will forever love him in “Freaks & Geeks.” I love that show forever.
15. The Kenosha drive-in is now open. I’d like to go some weekend. Would you want to? Maybe when it gets a bit warmer?
